At the end of October, Pokémon Go made the massive synchronization of new waypoints including various additional arenas for confusion. Was that a planned action of Ni antic? After all, the placement of some arenas violated the waypoint rules of the developers. Now it is clear: It was a mistake, more precisely to a database error.
Despite troubleshooting 11,588 waypoints in addition
The responsible persons for the so-called Wayfarer program at Ni antic, which is responsible for the allocation of waypoints, has expressed in detail to the massive appearance of new arenas in Pokémon Go. You write in an official blog post:
One too much to go to technical, a database error was responsible for accidental creation of approximately 45,000 waypoints, including mainly bakeshops, some of them in places where they were not allowed to be. We have fixed the bug and removed the waypoints against ours Rules violate. As part of this work, we also solved another problem that affected the synchronization of waypoints. This resulted in an increase in the available waypoints by 11,588 pieces worldwide. As a result of the database error, Ni antic has in total 11,588 waypoints in the game in the game, which apparently did not violate the rules. According to Ni antic, nothing has changed to these rules — the team has implemented only existing waypoints with the distance of a somewhat waypoint according to their own statement.
By the way: Anyone who had placed a Pokémon in an arena who had arisen unauthorized as a result of the database error and the Ni antic has now removed again, released again in the inventory of their coaches after completing the maintenance work on the database. So you do not have to fear to lose Pokémon used in deleted arenas.
