ARM, previously Advanced Risc Machine, originally Acorn Risc Machines, is an RISC architecture (Reduced Instruction Set Computer = Computer with a reduced set of instructions) of 32-bit and, with the arrival of its V8-A version, also of 64 bits, developed By Arm Holdings. Architecture ARM is the set of 32 and 64-bit instructions more widely used in units produced. [1] [2] Originally conceived by Acorn Computers for use in personal computers, the first ARM based products were the Acorn Archimedes , launched in 1987. A RISC-based design approach allows ARM processors to require a smaller amount of transistors than the X86 CISC processors, typical in most personal computers. This design approach takes us, therefore, to a reduction in costs, heat and energy. These features are desirable for devices that work with batteries, such as mobile phones, tablets, etc. The relative simplicity of ARM processors makes them ideal for low power applications. As a result, they have become the dominants ...
